Angela LaBella, PT established the Center for Physical Therapy and Wellness of Bloomfield in January 2006 after parting with a former practice she helped founded in 1985. This evolution was inspired by her desire to continue to offer not only one-on-one physical therapy services, but also to expand into wellness and prevention programs. Angela felt that this vision was necessary for her patients and the surrounding community's continued well being.
New Facility:
The Center for Physical Therapy and Wellness recently moved into a brand new 4000 square foot facility equipped with private treatment rooms, a rehabilitation gym and a wellness center. The wellness center is outfitted with both aerobic and strengthening equipment as well as room for classes including Pilates, core strengthening, stretching and balance programs in addition to yoga.

You no longer need to wait to see your doctor before getting physical therapy-As of October 1, 2006 physical therapists in Connecticut are allowed to treat patients without a referral from other healthcare practitioners except in cases involving workers's compensation injuries or a specific kind of treatment (Grad V manipulation.) This includes not only physical therapy treatment, but also wellness and prevention programs. Your physical therapist here will understand the criteria surrounding this historic legislation which allows you access to physical therapy without first waiting to see your doctor. It also allows you to seek exercise programs or other training from a licensed physical therapist without restriction. Communication with your other healthcare providers is an essential part of our care and will continue to be so even without a referral.
